「切り裂きジャック事件 / 解決（Jack the Ripper : Case Closed）」は、英国の TV 司会者 / 演劇プロデューサー /  ジャーナリスト / 作家 / 元政治家であるガイルズ・ドーベニー・ブランドレス（Gyles Daubeney Brandreth：１９４８年ー）が、Corsair 社 から、２０１７年に発表した作品である。

ガイルズ・ブランドレスは、１９４８年３月８日、ドイツに出生。

そして、オックスフォード（Oxford）のニューカレッジ（New College）へ進んだ。

ガイルズ・ブランドレスは、オスカー・ワイルド協会（Oscar Wilde Society）の会長（President）で、「Complete Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde」（２００８年）や「Beautiful and Impossible Things: Selected Essays of Oscar Wilde」（２０１５年）等を編集している。

そう言った経緯もあって、アイルランド出身の詩人 / 作家 / 劇作家であるオスカー・フィンガル・オフラハティ・ウィルス・ワイルド（Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde：１８５４年ー１９００年）を主人公にした以下の推理小説も発表。

ロンドン東部のホワイトチャペル地区の地図が描かれている。

なお、「切り裂きジャック事件 / 解決（Jack the Ripper : Case Closed - 米題：Oscar Wilde and the Return of Jack the Ripper）」は、オスカー・ワイルドを探偵役にしたシリーズの最新作で、友人で、シャーロック・ホームズシリーズの作者であるアーサー・イグナティウス・コナン・ドイル（Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle：１８５９年ー１９３０年）と組んで、１８９４年のロンドンにおいて発生した切り裂きジャック（Jack the Ripper → ２０２４年５月２２日付ブログで紹介済）の再来と言われる連続殺人事件に挑む物語である。
